Ledbury Community Day Saturday 9th June

LLDG will have a stall outside the Library entrance from 10.00 to 13.00.

We’ll have some books to sell, so come and browse and talk about what we’ve been up to and our future plans.   Any suggestions about future events and ways to help promote and protect our library service will be welcome.

Fourth Annual Quiz

On the evening of Monday 4th November 2017, the Royal Hall was again packed for our fourth Annual Quiz. This year’s theme was Reluctant Readers – we aim to support the Library’s events for schools. Sara-Jane Arbury kept the teams on their toes with questions on a wide range of subjects and the winning team was Spice. Our raffle was well supported, prizes donated by many local businesses and our members, and we sold every ticket. The net amount we raised was £450 which will go to support schools’ events this coming year

Another Successful Book Sale

Our second sale of donated books was held in November, in the Panelled Room at the Master’s House.   We raised over £600 to help fund our support for Reluctant Reader events with local schools.

Thanks to all our volunteers who helped set up and steward the sale , and everyone who donated books.

Local Author Event with Suzette Hill

Crime writer, Suzette A. Hill is a staunch supporter of the Ledbury Library Development Group.  She was one of the first authors to give a talk for us when the group first formed nearly four years ago.  We were delighted to invite her back at the end of October, this time to the Library.  Suzette gave us a fascinating insight into the way she works and how she develops her characters.  Suzette sparked a lively discussion when she asked members of the audience to think about why crime novels are so popular.  She left us very much looking forward to the publication of her next novel.

Following our successful sale in July, we will have another sale of donated books during normal library hours from the 13th to 20th November.   Books will be in on display in Panelled Room in the Master’s House.

All proceeds will contribute to our continuing efforts to support activities at Ledbury Library.

If you have any good condition books that you would like to donate, please take them to Ledbury Library during opening hours.
